TS Booker undertook its single largest project to date. The newly built Broadmoor hospital replacing the old building which was opened in 1863. The project, valued at a total of £115m, will involve the construction of a new hospital containing 162 mental health beds, and will transport the 150-year-old hospital into the 21st century, providing a modern, fit for purpose environment for services and securing the future of high secure mental healthcare locally.
The project in collaboration with Kier Major Projects & West London Mental Health Trust included fit outs of,
- Staff rooms
- Reception area
- Changing rooms
- Kitchen area
- Consulting rooms
- Family area
- Cleaners store
- De-escalation room
- Clinical rooms
- Locker room
- Exercise rooms
- Corridors… and much more
The highly bespoke furniture had to reach exacting standards in design, construction and fit. The anti-ligature fitted furniture also had be able to withstand extreme strength and destruction testing before being approved for use.
The project is due for completion in late 2017.
