Velstone worktops - Specifications
Velstone is a solid surfacing material comprising a natural mineral (Aluminium Hydroxide) bonded together in a Polyester/Acrylic Matrix. Velstone is manufactured using a unique blend of Unsaturated Polyester Resin and Acrylic Resin that offers great mechanical strength and weathering resistance. Velstone is a 100% non-porous product, which allows a seamless surface. Conventional solid surface worktops such as Corian are 12mm~13mm thick solid surface sheet bonded onto 25mm MDF. Velstone is the only European manufactured solid surface material to offer a homogenous 25mm thick product specially created for Education & Healthcare projects. These 25mm surfaces not only fit into stringent budgets but essentially help create a sterile work surface which is easy to care & maintain. Stains, Graffiti can be removed using standard supermarket cleaning detergents or by sanding. Even when damaged Velstone can be repaired on-site.
Velstone has been awarded the Royal Institute of Health and Hygiene Certificate annually since 1994. It has been certified for use in environments where Public Health & Hygiene is paramount. Velstone is one of the few solid surfacing materials to hold BS Part 476 Class 0 and Class 1 Fire Ratings.
